Interim Management Education - Mentoring
n our selection of interim managers, we look for the ability to pass on skills, experience and behaviours to those who work with them. In our experience, this ability to educate and influence behaviour helps develop your people and falls into 3 categories:1. Skills Transfer
2. Experience Sharing
3. Mentoring
Skills Transfer We have all developed key skills in our working lives. This may be the use of certain tools and techniques. This may be some basic skill, the best way to construct a critical presentation, or as far-reaching as handling a vital business situation. In each case, the use of tools, techniques, hints and tips, or just knowing where to find the right information are skills that are being passed on to your staff.
Experience Sharing As well as definable, specific skills, we have all collected a number of war stories and true life adventures that have stayed with us during our professional lives. We know the things that have worked in specific situations and what did not work. Our past experiences shape our present judgements and these experiences can be shared by the interim manager with those he or she works with.
Mentoring All our interim managers take mentoring as part of their brief, in addition to other inputs such as role definition and needs assessment. By 'mentoring', we mean the ability to listen, guide and coach your staff during an engagement. Such guidance may be incident-specific or more generic, but will be aimed at providing an extra dimension of help; to listen to issues, urgent or otherwise, or influence behaviours; to deliver better solutions for your business. Mentoring is an integral part of all interim management engagements with Cream Interim.
Cream Interim will help grow your staff and aims to ensure that you and your people are more thoroughly prepared for the future. This may be a full time role or just a light touch, supporting individuals on a one-to-one basis.
